This September Cheltenham is hosting a series of events to celebrate the 150th birthday of musical icon Gustav Holst, including a free community event at Imperial Gardens on the seminal composer's birthday this September, PlayLa.bZ are collaborating with The Holst Birthplace Trust & switched on creative minds at University of Gloucestershire - School of Creative Arts, to join us in being part of pop culture history for Holst 150.

Laura Kinnear
Curator of the Holst Victorian House

Laura Kinnear is often inspired by artefacts when writing - this is true of her novel, 'A Forest of Things', which she began after seeing a 16th-century map of Danzig in the National Library of Scotland. Laura lives in Stroud and has worked in museums for over fifteen years and is creatively producing the Holst 150 Celebrations, with Arts Council England SW, Cheltenham Festivals, UoG, The Wilson Museum & PlayLa.bZ CIC

Capt. James Edward Marks, is a multi-faceted creator who thrives at the DiY intersection of art, technology, and social commentary. His experimental mixed-media works and immersive digital experiences often blend sub/pop culture narratives with a critical lens. James's has garnered multiple awards, including for the award-winning Skyrim social video series with creators Harry Partridge and Dan Bull. Working and collaborating with brands and institutions like British Red Cross, Sega, Bethesda, Nintendo, EA, Manchester United, YouTube, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair, Tate Modern, V&A, Science Museum, MOMA, Kew Gardens, BFI & IMAX.

PlayLa.bZ Community Interest Company: Is a multi-award-winning experience design laboratory dedicated to social good storytelling. We specialize in next-generation immersive experiences and createch software application “GenieMo” to empower DiY counter narrative changemakers.
